Research & Development

The department conducts research in the field of General Zoology, Animal Ecology, Behaviour, Biodiversity, Ethnobiology, Faunastics, Systematic Zoology, Parasitology, Ecology and Fisheries. Faculty members have been well engaged and awarded research projects from various national and international agencies such as US Agency for International Development, Washington D.C.; International Foundation of Science; WWF; IUCN; ICIMOD. In the same way, students of the Department have also been provided grants for their thesis and or research from different national and international agencies such as WWF; Oriental Bird Club; Birdlife International; RSPB; RUFFORD; BCN; RED PANDA Network; NTNC; CSWIN; DNPWC etc. Coordination and collaboration with other departments and research organizations for research and conservation programs in upcoming days are also in process. The Department believes on annual student educational excursion to different places and does organize excursions thinking to add new dimension in scholar’s research.
